That Championship Season on Broadway

Saw "That Championship Season" on Broadway in NYC last night! It stars Kiefer Sutherland, Chris Noth, Jason Patric, Brian Cox and Jim Gaffigan! The acting was amazing! Brian Cox deserves a Tony for his performance!
The beginning was slightly slow but picked up. There were many funny lines in the script that kept the audience laughing. The actors were absolutely amazing, although some didn't feel too comfortable in their parts yet, but this is why they call it "previews" and last night was the 2nd night of previews.

All in all, I enjoyed the show and found the acting to be brilliant. Definitely deserves a Tony Nomination and Brian Cox ruled the stage and definitely made the show.

At the stage door after the show, Jason Patric came out within 30 minutes to sign autographs and take photos. He was out there for a good 15 minutes. Brian Cox came out next and signed autographs and took photos for about 30 minutes. Kiefer Sutherland came out next and did the same as well as chatted with a few fans that asked questions and made comments. He was full of smiles and rather friendly. Moved quickly through the lines of people waiting for autographs but stayed out for a good 10-15 minutes. Last to come out was Jim Gaffigan who signed for about 5 minutes. Chirs Noth did a disappearance act when Kiefer Sutherland came out, I believe, as we saw the "Door Guy" go over to the other doors and a mob of people ran over. Rather upset that Chris Noth couldn't sign autographs or take photos for 2 minutes no matter what he had or didn't have to do. Not very fan friendly, I guess. If the rest of the cast can make time for a few minutes to meet their fans and sign autographs, there was no reason why he couldn't. Totally bummed out! Thanks for Kiefer and the rest of the cast to be so "Fan Friendly" and for Brian Cox to go above and beyond with staying out so long in the freezing cold to make sure everyone's playbill, photos, etc were signed! Huge Kudos to you Brian for your performance and your "fan friendliness"!

Tip: Make sure you bring your own Sharpie because the actors don't come with them. Bring a few in case they borrow it and forget to return it! ;) Besides, you want something signed you should be prepared for it! =)

That Championship Season is a limited engagement and performed at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on W 45th Street in NYC. Check out the official website for more information: http://www.thatchampionshipseason.com/
Even if you aren't crazy about the story line, check it out as the acting is definitely worth seeing!
